Planning a wedding. Help me!?

Posted by: | Comments (8)

We only got officially engaged yesterday (although we have been discussing it for a while) so plans have not developed yet. i just do not know where to start!!

Our anniversary from when we first got together is in March and falls on a Sunday next year, so we would like this to be the date for the wedding as it is such a special date (and it means my partner doesn’t have to remember a different date haha).

This means we have 6 months to plan it all which should be long enough even though I know some people take a lot longer.

We do not want a church wedding as my partner is not religious and we feel it would be hypocritical. We also want to keep the wedding simple and preferably low budget as we would rather spend our money on our life together than on one day.

Therefore, we are looking at having a civil ceremony in a hotel or country house (or that type of thing) and having the reception in the same place. We were thinking of having only close family and friends at the ceremony and wedding breakfast (which will keep costs down). But then having an evening reception at the same place with more guests attending.

Would we cater the evening reception? Particularly with it being a Sunday and probably finishing early due to people being at work the next day.

What else do we need to think about?
Guests
Flowers
Venues
Menu
Transport
Dress/Suit
Invitations
Favours
Decorations

I’m sure there’s tons of things that haven’t even crossed my mind yet but any advice and answers to my above questions would be appreciated.

Thank you.

If this is in the UK

Getting married on a sunday and having the registrar come to the venue cost about £500. It’s £30 each to give notice and then an additional £485 ( this may vary depending on where in the country you are). So if budget is an issue then it is cheaper to get married in the registry office.
If you are positive you want them to come to the venue then you need to prevision ally book the venue first, then speak to the registry office to see if they have a registrar available.
As it is a civil ceremony all the music will be vetted to ensure that there is not religious undertones. (this obviously doesn’t include the first dance.

Usually you would cater for the eve, however if you have your ceremony time in the afternoon (2-3pm) then you would probably need to feed you guests once (on the presumption that they would have had lunch at home).

You will also need to think about clothing for your bridesmaids/grooms men, its traditional to buy them a token gift as well (we are getting the bridesmaids jewelry to wear on the day and the groomsmen hip flask’s)
Also Music for eve and ceremony, photographer, wedding bands, cake, gift list and honeymoon

Which acne kit really works?

Posted by: | Comments (5)

Ok so my anniversary is in about three weeks and everything is ready, except my face!! I have been breaking out because of the stress of school and the sweat (hot arizona weather). I know all skin types are different but which has worked for you or which do you recommend to work quick? Ive heard of proactive and skinid and clean&clear advantage kit, and max foam but do any of them work? Also im not sure if id want proactive cuz some people mentioned it made it worse! :O any info is appreciated icon biggrin Which acne kit really works?

I think the clean and clear kit works.
I’m not sure since I’m using the clean and clear acne continuous control 5% BP and the daily moisturiser and it has cleared up my acne.
I wouldn’t say it cured it, but it has removed my existing acne.
I still do get a pimple or two from time to time due to hormones.

My skin is normal, before it was dry but after using aveeno daily moisturiser my skin was neither dry or oily.
I’m not sure if it’ll work for you, but I guess you can give it a try? icon biggrin Which acne kit really works?

2 year anniversary dinner?

Posted by: | Comments (3)

I’m looking for a really nice restaurant that me and my boyfriend can go to for our 2 year anniversary. He planned last year’s dinner and I’m planning this year’s. Can anyone tell me some really nice, and high rated restaurants? We go to the Cheesecake Factory all the time … So something different, please icon smile 2 year anniversary dinner?

Any type of food is fine.

I would recommend Filomena in Georgetown. It is great Italian food and very romantic. Just make sure you call ahead and make reservations. It is a great restaurant for special occaions plus yuo can take a stroll through Georgetown either before or after your meal.

My husband and I are vacationing later this fall, but I still want to go somewhere and do something different for our one year anniversary.

I got this idea of an adventurous getaway with bucket list type activities.

Anyone have any ideas in and around Chicagoland/Indiana?

navy Pier, The Hancock Building, Gurnee Mills, Ed DeBevics, (lunch) Museum Of Science and Industry for the coal mine and submarine, Lincoln Park Zoo, 18th street beach, Ann Sathers (lunch or dinner), Nancy’s, Giordano’s, (pizzas) Harry Caray’s,(dinner), Chicago boat tour, to name a few.

I do have a small handfull of questions regarding this matter. But first a little info to better help you understand the situation.

Two weeks ago I put in my two week notice of quitting my job. June 6th was my 1 year anniversary at this particular job. And my last shift would have been last night to this morning before quitting. Yesterday (sunday night into monday morning) after my shift my name was choosen to take a random drug test. I possess a Class A CDL. And my days off include tues through fri, since I usually work 9pm – 7am sat through mon as a yard goat operator. A CDL is required for this position with the company I was working for.

Apon notice of random drug screen testing I quickly relised I was not going to be able to drive myself, so that itself lessoned my abilities to swing by a store of any kind to pick up some type of detox to clean my UA sample that I was going to be forced to give. Plus that particular dr place usually is anything but speedy on getting people through. So instead of wasting the possible 2 hours of time it would take to do the test. And since I smoked a blunt fri night. And I knew with out a doubt I was going to fail. I admitted "Mostly likely the test will come back dirty due to being at a party and being a little drunk I smoked a blunt" Next thing, phone calls were made by my boss, and I speak with some guy in a different state. Telling me to jot this number down, I do. Its a numbr to a SAP.

The day I was suppose to quit, I was planning on getting out and away from the trucking industry all together. Do to different reasons I have over the past 11yrs and changes that have occured within the trucking industry as a whole and as laws and rules have changed. My work history is close to perfect, my driving history is kind of close to perfect (have had a couple speeding tickets 5+ years ago). Though in all of my life I have never had any kind of buzz while on the job, and I have never been under the influence of anything with in 24hrs of either being on the job, operating any type of machinery, and playing with power tools in my garage.

So here are my questions. Please answer with details if possible and with correct numbering so its easier to read. icon smile How does failing a random drug screen by admitting affect the future of my Driving privileges?
1) I understand by admitting it is basically the same as failing or refusing. So from what I understand the fail to comply with company and DOT regulations will be placed on my DAC report.
Is this going to suspend my Class A CDL in AZ?

2) I was planning on reverting my license back to a regular operator’s license in a couple of months. Will this event, in any way shape or form restrict me from being able to revert my license back to a regular class c operators license? Also, would this imput any restrictions on my license if held a regular operators license in AZ?

3) Since I don’t plan on driving a semi truck any longer, not due to this event, but for personal reasons previously mentioned. How could I benefit from the SAP number I was provided? If I was to go that route here in AZ.

4) I was under the impression that time earned at any company, inables you to collect vacation pay. Can this company legally refuse to pay my vacation pay due to early termination, given that the notice to pay my vacation pay was placed in the books on the same date as my 2 week notice quit date?

unless you actually failed the drug test or put in writing that you would fail, you are clean in the eyes of the law.
they can report you refused but that is about it.
there are some states that require vacation time be paid AZ is not one of those states.
