Lazy Husband: I married a spoiled child! What to do?
Posted by: | CommentsI don’t know when I am going to call it quits with my marriage of 3 years. I’m depressed, stressed, and unhappy with my life.
Don’t ask me why I married this man because like many people, I was dating a different guy and his true colors appeared after marriage. I’ve searched through everything to try and change myself and save this marriage but I feel like I’ve tried them all…I feel at lost guys, I really need some help!
For 19 years he was an only child until his parents ‘miraculously’ had his sister three years ago… He is such a spoiled rotten, immature person! And his parents aren’t helping by continuing to baby him! Yes, we live with my in-laws because I’m in school and work part time with a husband who won’t grow up so I have no choice. I can’t stand that he doesn’t realize his role in our marriage, it breaks me heart and I feel my health declining due to this.Since we have been married for three years he has not held ONE job, he says he’s looking but I’m not convinced. He barely passed one semester of college then dropped out! He has never surprised me for anything, anniversary, my birthday – NADA!
Since we’ve been married I have found a part time job that makes just enough to pay for our bills and I’ve been in college since 2009. People always assure me that if I’m the one to take action then he will follow, but that is definitely NOT happening, it seems he’s enjoying it more!
***Believe me, I am not lying… he really doesn’t help me aside of what I list***
So I:
- Am a full time college student
- Work 20/23 hrs a wk to pay our bills
- Care for & breast feed our 1 yr old
- Cook, clean, do laundry
Him:
- Shows up to his parent’s business when he feels like it
- Watches our daughter while I’m in school & work b/c he has no choice
About a month ago we checked our blood pressure together and I was shocked, I am an average woman and he is over weight – no joke. But my results were pre-hypertension while his readings came out normal. MY BLOOD BOILED! He didn’t seemed worried at all, his only remarks was, …"they’re lying and I told you not to do so much, just quit your job." Is this love? I picture a couple who loves one another so much that when one person is doing something the other will want to help such as shoveling snow here in MN! Heck, I help him even when there isn’t much snow to shovel. My heart feels broken and shattered by my husbands lack of care.
I stand for 8 hour shifts *I work retail* and get home at 10:30 pm to a dirty house, loads of dirty laundry, dishes in the sink, a hungry baby, a hungry me & NO DINNER. He has never made me dinner, all he can whip up is instant noodles and barely scrambled eggs. I make dinner, clean up and by that time I’m too exhausted to care until tomorrow. I just don’t know what else I can do. I’m going crazy.
Don’t mention his parents, it sure doesn’t seem like they are giving him any advice to becoming a better human being or perhaps he’s just too slow in the head… I’m just so upset at myself for marrying this person! I barely talk to his parents b/c their children are miracles… they are the type of people who don’t speak very much (I am a people person, I like to talk) so I find it hard to talk to them about their son… They are old fashioned too, so in their minds, I should just completely accept him for being their s***** rotten SON. F*** my LIFE ;__;
HELP.
I did read your entire question. And I understand where you are coming from. You need to tell your husband that you are at your breaking point, because you are, and then tell him exactly what you need from him. He is young and most likely spoiled, as you say. But if he loves you and you make your expectations clear and realistic he will slowly rise to the challenge. Start small and build slowly. Maybe buy some frozen dinners and have him warm it up for you when you are on the way home. Call to remind him at first if you have to. Then once he is consistently doing that ask him to start the dishes soaking when he throws in your food. Appreciate what he does, and slowly add more. This will work eventually but you have to have patience. Also, let some things slide as far as housework goes until you get your degree.
Good luck to you. Hang in there.
Where shall we go on holiday in June?
Posted by: | CommentsWe are going away for our wedding anniversary in June and want to go somewhere a little different to our usual Spain and Malta type holidays but aren’t sure where to look first.
We are probably going to rent a private property as we prefer this type of holiday but would consider hotels if in a place where that is the more normal thing to do, such as Sri Lanka.
We do have a budget that won’t stretch too far away from the UK so places like Australia aren’t possible.
We are 34 years old and we like places that have alot of history and places of interest to visit, we like to rent a car and explore places, we also like to relax on beautiful beaches and enjoy unusual striking, scenery.
We don’t like places that have been ‘britified’ and are noisy and full of dodgy nightclubs and bars, but we love local cuisine and nice bars.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Why not try Iceland. We have been 5 times.
It is an incredible place and very accesible with rental car.
It is not COLD during the summer (got a touch of sunburn one July!).
Scenery you couldn’t make up it is so different.
Swimming in geothermal water (Blue Lagoon) in volcanic crater.
Gulfoss waterfall that makes the ground vibrate.
Mud and geyser pools!
Day trip to Greenland if you want to see icebergs etc. This is what started us off going to "cold places" and since then have been to Alaska twice, Polar Bear and walrus watching in Spitzbergan, Greenland including Disko Bay where the Titanic iceberg started from and 3 trips to Antarctica!
No beautiful beaches but scenery the like of which you can’t believe!
100% different to anything you have ever experienced! You would either love it or hate it! No one we know who has been there hates it!
One time we stayed in a timber house B+B at an Icelandic horse breeding station – incredible scenery, and went whale watching in the north of the island at Husavik in a converted whale hunter. That started us off whale watching and since have been and watched whales across the world!

How is my sociology paper?
Posted by: | CommentsIts about looking at facebook through a perspective. I picked Functionalism for my topic.
In sociology there are three major perspectives, each meaning a different thing. The three perspectives are Symbolic Interactions, Functionalism, and Conflict. Each play a different part in life, and in social networks, such as Facebook. Facebook helps contribute to functionalism in many different ways.
Facebook in a social network that creates an effortless way for individuals to keep in touch. Almost everyone and anyone can get a Facebook. After creating a Facebook the entertaining begins, adding pictures, writing information you wish to share, requesting friends, receiving friend request, and updating your status. In many different ways Facebook is a Functionalism.
On Facebook individuals can update their status. Why do people update their status? Why do others leave a comment or like the status? The purpose of updating a status is to inform others what is going on in your life. There many different types of statuses such as “Sooo….anybody know if we’re starting our chemistry test tomorrow? (I hope somebody says we’re not taking it
).” Which functions as a way to get information regarding the certain subject. Another example is a latent status such as “What’s the point in having a phone if you don’t have it with you?” The status is not intended to make anyone mad or start a fight, but may have been taken the wrong way. One more example of a status is manifest, “Got accepted to the university of Akron J.” This type of status is meant to inform and get positive feed back from friends.
Another function on Facebook is to inform others of your social status. Why do people update there relationship status? Updating your status taking about another individual is just one way to inform others your interesting in someone, whether your dating them, just talking, engaged, married, or even divorced. Also, there is a an information section, in the information section there is a place that says Relationship Status. The relationship status can be updated to single, in a relationship, engaged, married, it’s complicated, and divorced. Along with your relationship status it can also say when your anniversary is.
Facebook is full of different functions. Facebook can run smoothly when operated correctly. It’s main purpose and functions are to inform others. Why do so many have a Facebook?
"In many different ways Facebook is a Functionalism."
Grammatically incorrect, "…is functionalist" works.
"The three perspectives are Symbolic Interactions, Functionalism, and Conflict."
Not true, so many more perspectives than that, and I don’t think you mean ‘perspectives’ anyway.
You use rhetorical questions too much. It gets annoying. Rephrase them. You can get away with one or two. Probably only one.
"After creating a Facebook the entertaining begins"
Again, doesn’t make grammatical sense. ‘Entertainment’ might work but I don’t know if you want to stress the entertainment factor at all.
Basically it needs work.
