Rising from the Ground – 10 Year Anniversary of 9/11

September 11th, 2001, I was six years old and living in London, England. It was about 2 in the afternoon when the towers were hit, and about 3 when they fell. It was near the end of the school day when my Year 2 teacher told us the news from America. I expect they explained it in fairly simple terms, but being only six, I doubt I understood what was happening. In fact, at 16, I still don’t fully understand it.
This video is in memory of everyone who died on or because of 9/11: the passengers on the four planes, the people in the World Trade Centres, the people in the Pentagon, and the brave civilians and firefighters who braved Ground Zero to search for survivors – and later to find bodies to send back to their families.
Something I wrote earlier today:
Do you remember the days when flying was fun? When children were taken into the cockpit to meet the pilots and see all the controls? When you could sit in your seat and not worry about what the person in front of you, or beside you, or in any other part of the plane could be planning to do? Do you remember the time before 9/11?
Let’s remember the 3,497 people who died ten years ago on September 11, 2001 ♥

911 Octopus – New World Order 1/7 (Countdown to the 10th Anniversary of 9/11)

President Bush reveals a plan to destroy America and establish a one-world government. He calls it “a big idea, a New World Order”. The Octopus is too weak to carry out his vision in 1990 because the news media are not under total control. The Octopus spend the next ten years planning a “New Pearl Harbor” event that will terrorize the American Public into abandoning their Bill of Rights and join a Global Fascist Police State where cruel and unusual torture is common and resistance is met with secret detention, mind-altering drugs, and execution. The Octopus plans to enforce their scheme through the use of little-understood high-tech weaponry and intensive propaganda spread through the news media. With their tentacles carefully placed in strategic positions within the FBI, the Justice Dept, and the Military, the Octopus decides to attack at the Dawn of a New Millenium, exactly 11 years after their plan was announced by the elder President Bush. Using an imaginary threat of global “Islamic Terrorism” the Octopus enlists the Neo-cons, Zionists, and Right-Wing Christians to spread their propaganda, making empty promises to each group. Little do they realize that as soon as the Octopus takes total control, Israel and the Religious will be betrayed, and all of mankind will serve only one master: The Octopus. Bishop Iniguez says, “It is the church obligation to teach the people proper conscience.” Obviously, the Church failed in this country! The Church’s failure drove these women to abortions. Illegal abortions are high! 560,000 every year! Not counting those illegal abortions done in their own backyards which can run up to 800,000. You call this proper conscience? Stop meddling with the government affairs! Enough with nonsense! Focus on your moral obligations! Giving the Filipinos proper conscience means giving them the options and access to family planning. Stop illegal abortions! Educate the people. Help the poor people by giving them access to family planning.

Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago to Church: stop opposing RH bill; Heart Evangelista attends Senate hearing for support

(SPOT.ph) In her co-authorship speech yesterday, August 1, opening the Senate plenary debates on the Reproductive Health Bill, Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago appealed to the Church to focus on more pertinent issues like poverty and corruption, instead of involving themselves with the controversial legislation, reports GMA News.
According to the senator, the Catholic Church is the only major religion in the country against the RH Bill and that the Philippines is one of six out of 48 largely Catholic countries that still does not have an RH law. Defensor-Santiago argued that the bill would help alleviate injustice. “The first step in abolishing injustice is to recognize how much the Church itself is tied to the unjust system that oppresses the very poor. RH is available to the rich, why should it not be made available to the very poor?” she said. In an ABS-CBN report, Defensor-Santiago suggested for the Church to stop meddling in matters of reproductive health and to just allow parents to listen to their conscience.
While the Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) agreed that conscience is important, the CBCP noted that her statements were lacking. “Tama ang sinabi ng senadora na ang konsensya ang dapat sundin. Pero hindi niya alam na obligasyon ng simbahan na turuan ang tao na magkaroon ng tamang konsensya (The senator is right in saying that the conscience should be followed. But she does not know that it is the Church’s obligation to teach people proper conscience),” said CBCP Public Affairs Director Fr. Deogracias Yniguez. Sen. President Juan Ponce Enrile echoed this sentiment: For him, proper conscience is to use family planning methods approved by the Church.
Supporting Defensor-Santiago as she delivered her speech was actress Heart Evangelista, who attended the plenary. Evangelista was maid-of-honor at the senator’s 50th wedding anniversary.
