First anniversary adventure getaway ideas.?

By

My husband and I are vacationing later this fall, but I still want to go somewhere and do something different for our one year anniversary.

I got this idea of an adventurous getaway with bucket list type activities.

Anyone have any ideas in and around Chicagoland/Indiana?

navy Pier, The Hancock Building, Gurnee Mills, Ed DeBevics, (lunch) Museum Of Science and Industry for the coal mine and submarine, Lincoln Park Zoo, 18th street beach, Ann Sathers (lunch or dinner), Nancy’s, Giordano’s, (pizzas) Harry Caray’s,(dinner), Chicago boat tour, to name a few.

i take my boy friend on a different trip every year for his birthday. Two years ago we went to chicago and we stayed in a nice hotel. Even if you live in Chicago getting a hotel gives the whole trip more of a get away feel. It doesn’t have to be expensive but something downtown like the tremont is good.
I took him to the 105th floor restaurant one night and we ate and watched the fireworks through the lovely windows in the restaurant. If you go, demand a window seat facing the city. Breath taking at night.
Maybe go dancing after wards. Nice fun night out on the town and then take it back to the hotel for some dessert.
You could make it a night or a weekend thing, but just incorporate things that make you guys special as a couple and things you can laugh and have a great time doing.
Some other things you could do if your interested in these activities are catching a game, comedy show, bar, picnic in hyde park by the beach, finding a drive in movie, boat ride, concert, or poetry reading.
good luck and congrats on the first year.
