In this one-year LGR anniversary special, we take a look at The Need For Speed. The first game in the still-going series got its start on the forgotten 3DO game console, eventually being ported to DOS PCs.
This is a history and in-depth review and comparison of the 3DO and PC versions of the game.

I used to play the demo version of this on the PC. Once you got bored of actually racing, one of the coolest things to do was play with the ridiculous way your car spins in the air if you crash into a wall or opponent at top speed. No damage modeling in this game after all.

You should review its main competitor of the time, Screamer, from the Italian Graffiti. that game was great.

I don’t know about the NFS HP demo since EA and Criterifags decided at the last moment NOT to release it on PC. They will probably do the same for DLC’s…

@tudythegangster Really? Because I thought Shift was pretty good! And I did have a great time playing the demo of NFS: Hot Pursuit (The New One). I know it was only one race unless you had one of your friends involved in the demo so you could race another which kinda sucks, but I still found that one race to be a blast, even if it was a little easy. But do keep in mind that this is my opinion and yours may very well be different to mine.
